Take and Tetsu are two middle-aged men who have been failed by life, but who are banking on better fortunes as upstart con artists. Circumstances, however, soon find them living together with an innocently attractive young girl named Mahiro, who is actually a skilled pickpocket, her elder sister, Yahiro, and a slacker clock-mechanic-wannabe boyfriend named Kantaro. The quirky household is soon threatened, however, by a yakuza gangster just out of jail who wants revenge for being conned by Take years ago. It turns out he is the same hood who drove Mahiro and Yahiro’s mother to suicide. The 5 of them decide to embark upon a major sting operation aimed at the yakuza’s office safe in hopes of riches, revenge and a break from their miserable lives.
